☂ lens review (dolly eye: puffy 3tones green)

Hello again! Trying my best to pump out lots of posts since my next uni assignment is in two weeks (o´▽`o) Got lots of backlog with reviews, convention and photoshoot reports!! Today I'll be reviewing The Dolly Eye's Puffy 3tones in green, which I purchased from Adelaide Little Lens as usual.

Company: The Dolly Eye
Diameter: 14.5mm
Water content: 38%
Base curve: 8.6mm
Prescription: Yes
Lifespan: 1 year
left: outside view & right: inside view
COLOUR & DESIGN
★★★★
I think I'm repeating myself a lot from my previous review of the same series, but these lenses are amazing. The green shows up so well on my dark eyes, which is always the first sign to a good pair of lenses. The thin, soft limbal ring and gradient colour designs really helps to blend everything into a more natural look, and it's just stunning I LOVE IT SO MUCH.

ENLARGEMENT
★★★
It's not as big as the other 16mm lenses that are designed for the crazy dolly eye looks, but these nonetheless still has a bit of an enlarging effect. It can definitely pass for both casual wear and for cosplay! (♡˙︶˙♡)

COMFORT
★★
I had no problems at all with this lens! Wore them for more than 8 hours for a photoshoot, and my eyes were perfectly okay and didn't even need any eyedrops.

OVERALL

★★
I absolutely love this series!! The colour opacity is amazing and the colour is so vibrant and gorgeous, just like the blue version that I also own ♥ I'm thinking about collecting the rest of the series since it's one of the best designs I've tried so far. Can't recommend these lenses enough (☆▽☆)

I've used these lenses for Toujou Nozomi from Love Live! and Kinomoto Sakura from CCS, and hopefully these photos will do the lenses justice!!

☂ lens review (GEO: plum brown)

H-Hello everyone!! It's been a (long) while since I last posted and the only excuse I can give is that uni ate up so much of my free time, I could barely use makeup or cosplay;; But now that it's my mid-year break, I now have a month of free time to catch up on all my backlog and hopefully post more frequently - especially now that I'm preparing my cosplays for upcoming conventions!!

Today I'll be reviewing GEO Medical's Plum Brown (WTC24), once again sponsored by the lovely
Adelaide Little Lens.

Company: GEO Medical
Diameter: 14.8mm
Water content: 42%
Base curve: 8.8mm
Prescription: Yes
Lifespan: 1 year
left: outside view & right: inside view

COLOUR & DESIGN
★★
The distinct flower design is definitely unique and something that I especially adore, as I've never owned a pair of circle lenses with a design that purposely does not blend it naturally. Unfortunately, this shade of brown does not show up well because of my dark eye colour, so most of the floral pattern is lost unless you're in very close proximity.

ENLARGEMENT
★★
As a 14.8mm lens, this certainly enlarges your eyes significantly, though not to crazy and unnatural proportions. It can definitely be worn both casually and for achieving a doll eyed effect ♥

COMFORT
★★
Initially I had some problems getting the contacts in, experiencing uncomfortable pains with my right eye. It took a couple more tries to adjust to the lens, but after a minute or so the pain went away! I think it was just my eyes not being accustomed to wearing contacts after such a long time;; Besides this little issue, I experienced no dryness or other problems (♡˙︶˙♡)

OVERALL
★★
All in all, I'm quite happy with these lenses! The only let down is the colour and design not showing up very clearly, but it's still nice to wear when I'm looking for a comfortable lens that naturally enhances my eyes.

As such, I wore this lens with light makeup for a casual and cute look!! Please excuse the changing lighting, it was cloudy the day I took photos wwwww I really should invest in a better camera ( ̄▽ ̄*)ゞ

☂ lens review (GEO: angel violet)

Hello everyone!!

I've recently started uni so things have been quite hectic, but things should settle down soon and I'll be posting a bit more regularly :) I've also started sewing my cosplays for this year, so hopefully some progress posts will be up! Today I'll be reviewing GEO Medical's Angel Violet, sponsored by
Adelaide Little Lens

Company: GEO Medical
Diameter: 14.2mm
Water content: 42%
Base curve: 8.60mm
Prescription: Yes
Lifespan: 1 year
vials
left: outside view & right: inside view

COLOUR & DESIGN
★★
Aaaaaah unfortunately the colours showed up poorly on my dark brown eyes, only showing true purple in very good lighting + close up. The design is very nice though, and I especially like how the black specks create a gradient and help blend the colour in.

ENLARGEMENT
★★
14.2mm lenses don't really have a significant enlarging effect, however the thick, black limbal ring really defines and makes the eyes pop out and look more cartoonish!!

COMFORT
★★
Probably the most comfortable pair of lenses I've owned! Usually putting contacts in on the first go gives me some trouble (constant shifting or some pains), but these went in with no problem at all :) Wore them for approximately 2-3 hours, and only needed some eye drops afterwards, as per usual.

OVERALL
★★
Overall, these are quite some nice circle lenses! The only let down was the colour, which to be honest I wasn't expecting too much (it might turn out better on light coloured eyes though). These are definitely good for those looking for a slight change of colour/understated lenses for casual wear and such!!

I did a quick fairy-kei makeup look with these, and it turned out looking a bit circus inspired?? Anyways, hope you found this review helpful :)

☂ lens review (GEO: nudy blue)

Trying to get into the groove of things again, so I'm aiming to at least post twice every month on here (* >ω<) So time for another lens review!! Today I'll be reviewing GEO Medical's Nudy in blue, sponsored by Adelaide Little Lens  as always!

Company: GEO Medical
Diameter: 14.2mm
Water content: 42%
Base curve: 8.60mm
Prescription: Yes
Lifespan: 1 year
vials
left: outside view & right: inside view

COLOUR & DESIGN
★★
Rather than blue, the colours showed up more grey? Nonetheless the colours and design still looks pretty natural :) The only problem I have with it is the space between the limbal ring and my iris, where there is a noticeable gap.

ENLARGEMENT
★★
As 14.2mm lenses, the enlargement factor is not significant. This would be great for beginners to start wearing contacts, or for casual wear.

COMFORT
★★
I found that these contacts were thinner than usual, and had some problems when I first put them on. They shifted every time my eyes moved and refused to sit still, but after trying them on again the next day, it stopped shifting. I have no idea why I had problems when I first put them on, but now it's 100% okay and comfortable! Had these on for two hours for when I ran an errand and I only need eyedrops after taking them off.

OVERALL
★★
Overall, I quite like these lenses! Though there isn't anything remarkable about them, they'll probably be used most often for every day wear ♥

☂ lens review (GEO: bella special blue)

Hello everyone! It's a bit late, but Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it, and happy holidays :) Hope everyone had a fun time with their loved ones, and received plenty of presents. Today I'll be reviewing GEO Medical's Bella Special Blue, sponsored by Adelaide Little Lens!

Company: GEO Medical
Diameter: 14.2mm
Water content: 42%
Base curve: 8.60mm
Prescription: Yes
Lifespan: 1 year

vials
left: outside view & right: inside view

COLOUR & DESIGN
★★
Unfortunately, these circle lenses showed up very poorly. Whilst the design and blue pigments are lovely on their own, it looks more like black lenses when on top of my dark brown eyes. Only in the flash and really good lighting would you be able to see the shade of blue. I'm sure these would look much better on light coloured eyes though!

ENLARGEMENT
★★
As 14.2mm lenses, these only enlarge the eyes a little bit. Definitely not one you would wear for the dolly eyes effect in cosplay, but still very wearable and a great size for beginners to start off from.

COMFORT
★★
I wore this pair for about two hours for photo taking and review purposes, and they gave me no problems at all. Just had small discomforts when first putting them on, which went away in a few seconds. Added the usual eyedrops after taking them out, but besides that it's all good!

OVERALL
★★
Slightly disappointed with this pair of circle lenses, I was expecting a lot more opacity in the colour... Nonetheless, these lenses would be great for casual wear to go out in, as they are not obnoxiously colourful and are a comfortable size.

Following this advice, I chose to wear these lenses with a simple blouse and wig for the casual wear theme!!

☂ lens review (ifairy: dolly+ red)

Gather round kiddos, it's review time ♥ Today I'll be reviewing one of my favourite circle lenses; the iFairy dolly+ in red from Adelaide Little Lens! For a full review of the shop, please check the end of my previous review here.

Company: iFairy
Diameter: 16.2mm
Water content: 55%
Base curve: 8.6mm
Prescription: 0 to -8.50
Lifespan: 1 year
Price: $20
left: outside view & right: inside view

COLOUR & DESIGN
★★★★★
WOW can I just say that these are one the most impressive coloured lenses I own? The red pigments are so vivid even against my black/brown eyes, and shows very well in photographs! The opaque black limbal ring further highlights the intense red colour and adds to the unnatural effect, which is a huge plus for cosplay. The red softly blends into my natural eye colour with specks of black, so I don't think it'll transition as well for light coloured eyes...

ENLARGEMENT
★★★★★
iFairy tends to only carry the larger sizes, and these are no exception. 16.2mm enlarges your eyes to great gREAT proportions, so wearing heavier makeup is a good way to balance it out!

COMFORT
★★★★★
I've worn these several times; once to a convention for 8+ hours, and another time to school for 6+ hours. On both occasions, there was no discomfort or dryness, and I only needed eye drops afterwards. Initially it did take a while to get use because of the size, but later it doesn't even feel like I have lenses at all.

OVERALL
★★★★★
As I said before, these are one of my most favourite circle lenses ever! The creepy factor and strange colouring makes it one of the coolest lenses I own and basically I'm in love it and you should be too. I have gotten so many compliments ranging from "your eyes are so cool" to "holy shit your eyes are scary." Many anime and Halloween characters have red eyes, so this is a very versatile lens that I guarantee you can get plenty of usage out of.

For the photos, I used this pair for my casual Chibiusa costest from Sailor Moon + zombie!maid for my school muck up day ♥

tw; fake blood + zombie makeup!

☂ lens review (ifairy: jewel grey)

Hello, hello, time for another lens review! Today I'll be reviewing the iFairy Jewel in grey from Adelaide Little Lens. For a full review of the shop, please check the end of my previous review here.

I'll also try to start making cosplay related tutorials next week for more variety of content in my blog, since I already have a lot of circle lens reviews prepared.

Company: The Dolly Eye
Diameter: 16.2mm
Water content: 55%
Base Curve: 8.6mm
Prescription: 0 to -8.50
Lifespan: 1 year
Price: $20

COLOUR & DESIGN
★★★★★
This lens' shade of grey is so natural and pretty, it's well suited for casual wear and for cosplay :) The true grey colour only shows clearly under really good lighting conditions, and appears dark grey/black for most of the time. I'm also a huge fan of the soft limbal ring because they blend so well!

ENLARGEMENT

★★★★★
This is probably one of the biggest pair of circle lenses I currently own, and dear god is it big. These obviously enlarge your eyes to freakish proportions, so makeup is highly recommended to balance it out.

COMFORT

★★★★★
I wore these lenses for approximately 8 hours for a convention on August, and not once did I feel any discomfort or dryness. It didn't feel like there was anything in my eye at all! I needed eye drops only after I took them out, but that issue is with every circle lens I wear.

OVERALL

★★★★★
It's natural design and great enlargement definitely makes it my go to circle lens for cosplay, and even casual wear (with the right makeup of course). It would probably be better for first time wearers to start from smaller diameters and work your way up, but I went from 14.2mm to 16.2mm lenses right away, and had no difficulty with adjusting to the larger size. Absolutely love these lenses!

I used this pair for my casual and pyjama cosplays of Mikasa Ackerman from the popular Attack on Titan/Shingeki no Kyojin. I took these photos when it was a cloudy day, so there's a lot of changes in the lighting much sorry!

Aaaaand also for Kaneki Ken from Tokyo Ghoul! WARNING fake blood at the end just in case.

☂ lens review (dolly eye: puffy 3tones blue)

Hello everyone!

Awhile back I ordered a huge circle lens haul from Adelaide Little Lens, and finally decided to post reviews to start up this blog. This is my first time actually writing reviews, so please bear with me as I try to not sound too awkward and find a style I'm comfortable with. Obviously from the title, I'll be talking about the Dolly Eye Puffy 3tones in blue :)

left: outside view & right: inside view

Company: The Dolly Eye
Diameter: 14.5mm
Water content: 38%
Base Curve: 8.6mm
Prescription: 0 to -10.00
Lifespan: 1 year
Price: $20

COLOUR & DESIGN
★★★★
These lenses are gorgeous! The colour is very opaque, and shows up well even on my brown/black eyes. A natural look is created from the thin, soft limbal ring and yellow ring inside the lens, helping to blend in the colours (the gradient effect would definitely show better on light coloured eyes).

ENLARGEMENT
★★★
Even though the size isn't the biggest, these lens still have quite an enlarging effect. This makes it passable for both casual day wear and for cosplay, which is a big plus for me.

COMFORT
★★
Definitely one of the more comfier lenses to wear! I had these on for approx 6 hours, and did not need any eye drops for rehydration. The only problem was after I removed them, when my eyes became significantly more tried and sore. This is probably due my eyes not being adjusting for wearing them for so long, so getting used to them is all I need.

OVERALL

★★★☆
I am so in love with these lenses! Having such blue eyes is a dream for me, since my natural eye colour is the darkest brown in existence. These are a brilliant first pair of blue lenses to add to my collection, and will probably be the best!

Now time for some photo spam! I used these lenses to cosplay genderbend!Jack Frost from Rise of the Guardians (who is my husband so hush no touching my baby). The wig wasn't very cooperative today, please excuse the messiness ;v;

I also used these lenses for Tetsuya Kuroko from Kuroko no Basuke

SHOP: Adelaide Little Lens
★★★★
As I bulk bought 7 pairs of circle lenses in one go, I'll post the shop review just once in this post. First off, the customer service is amazing! Communicating with the manager was very easy, as they are friendly and quick to reply to my questions. Using the multiple discounts available at the time, it accumulated into 60% off thus reducing the price of the lens from $20 to $8! (NOTE: the discounts are unfortunately now no longer available) This is probably the best bargain I've managed to snag, considering how expensive circle lenses usually are. In addition to this, free postage was included.

My only concern was the time of the postage. As a preorder, (which opens every two months) a month long wait is expected. However, I ordered on the 23 February and it arrived three months later on 23 June, with another two more pairs of lenses arriving on 22 July. This was understandable, as there was a problem with their supplier, thus delaying the process by over two months. A 25% off coupon or free postage for the next order was offered, so I didn't mind too much. I have purchased from this shop multiple times before, and such an unfortunate occurrence is very rare.

Overall, the affordable prices, quality lenses and great customer service makes this shop my go to place for circle lenses. So long as you don't mind the one month wait for preorders, I would highly recommend this shop to everyone!
